Our first steps will probably be a distant memory. Watching a baby or even imagining the challenge that is ahead of them, as they balance and take their first steps. The great sense of achievement, discovery and life ahead of them.
Thinking back remember those first steps are not achieved straight away. There’s been a lot of preparation, determination and strength to get to this momentous occasion.
So here we are, we’ve been through most of the wobbly stages and we’re taking our first steps this month.
We don’t all walk at the exact same pace. We walk together to support each other’s journeys, helping each other navigate the way, but we’re not necessarily on the same journey or travelling at the same speed.
No time to compare your first steps
The baby taking it’s first steps is not comparing their ability to anyone else. Just their own inner want and need to take a stand and those steps forward in their life. This is you. There is no time to compare yourself to others. This is your journey, these are your steps.
These first steps are breaking comfort zones
There’s a sense of comfort zones diminishing now. Your inner bravery ready to power (empower) your life. You’ve been waiting for this time to grow. It’s here. Just remember that when you take those first steps, to stop, look around, breathe in the feeling and the moment. Do this with every step. There’s no race. You are completely supported to move forward on your journey now.
Use this time for further discovery:
Are there any other places you want to go to on your journey?
Is there anything you are ready for now, that maybe you weren’t in the last 12 months?
Before you get ready for your first steps into May, take yourself back to a time when you last achieved something amazing to you. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and allow your mind to show you this event. Take your time to recall where you were, who you were with, what you were doing, what had you achieved, what were you feeling, what can you hear, what can you see, what time is it, what time of year is it? Notice everything about this event.
Now breathe in this last event from the top of your head through to your tummy and slowing exhale. The feeling of this sense of achievement filling your body now.
Returning back to now, focus all this energy into your first steps this month with determination, passion and achievement.
